I have just finished reading several disappointing reviews of Celebrity Equinox European cruises. I must respectfully disagree! My family loved this cruise!

My family recently took the seven night cruise from Istanbul to Rome and I must say it was fantastic! This was our fourth cruise but the first time with Celebrity. The Equinox was beautiful, impeccably clean, and very comfortable. The crew was generally quite friendly and accommodating. We sailed Aqua class and I believe this was a worthwhile upgrade as we enjoyed the rapid check in, the daily canapés, the access to the spa (where I enjoyed a wonderful massage during the one day at sea), and, especially, the access to Blu where we had dinner every evening. The staff at Blu - particularly Jesue, Sebastiao, and sommelier Nica were wonderful and made us feel like family.

I also enjoyed the on-board evening entertainment with my favorites being the shows with the Equinox performers who sang, danced, and entertained like they came straight from Broadway (which I guess they did)! The ports of call on this cruise included Istanbul, Mykonos, Valletta, Catania, and Salerno. They were all wonderful but we particularly enjoyed Mykonos, where we booked a fabulous excursion to the ancient island of Delos (the birthplace of Apollo), and Catania where we visited Mount Etna and quaint Taormina.

Cabin Review

AquaClass 2

Cabin A2

Spacious and well appointed. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom and shower were excellent. I believe Aqua and Concierge class cabins might have an upgraded shower? Not sure if this is the case, but, either way, the shower was excellent with plenty of water pressure and impeccably clean!

Port Reviews

Malta (Valletta)

Hot, sunny and beautiful. We explored the old city on our own and enjoyed the experience. We found the shops to be affordable and the shopkeepers friendly and welcoming. The views of the see from the old city are breathtaking!
