My family and I - 23 members took the Norwegian cruise to the Caribbean together. We have traveled before with Carnival, Disney, and Royal Caribbean.. this cruiseline was disappointing because of their extra charges to see shows, expensive specialty restaurants which are not included, and even a gelato ice cream shop and a bake shop which sold their products. Each day we were amazed at the charges. There were only 3 shows and 1 was not free-- Magic show was expensive and the food was terrible . The other two: the Burn the Floor was the best and the other two were so-so: Legally Blonde and the Magic Show. We are used to having nightly shows on the other cruise lines and were upset to find minimal entertainment if you do not like drinking and small little bars/lounges. My parents and other older adults went to sleep early every night. The cabins were very small and felt crowded- even with the family balconies. The food was bland-even in some of the "specialty" restaurants. We are sued to eating lobster, shrimp and other variety of foods on cruise lines- these one gave hotdogs and pizza at 10:00 p.m. There was no extravagant midnight buffet with cheeses from around the world and other foods (as the other cruise lines provide). The excursions were over priced by the cruise line and not enough time given at either of the 2 places: The baths and Atlantis Aquaventure. We will not travel with Norwegian again due to these factors. The only two positive things were that the family was together building memories and the children all loved the water slides and ropes. We all spent a lot of money, however do not feel as it was worth it.
