I went on this, my first P & O cruise, but my 10th actual cruise, expecting top class everything, especially as it was a brand new ship but was sadly disappointed. Embarkation was chaotic with no clear instructions from the miserable retired ladies who were handing out paperwork on arrival. We were given a time to arrive, but decided to go 2.5 hours earlier. We may as well have went first thing, got an earlier boarding ticket and still sat till after 1 waiting to get onboard. The cabin was lovely, I truly loved the décor and colouring - no complaints there. Staff were on the whole, very accommodating, except for some of the British shore excursion staff who were very rude one day when trying to get us on buses for our trips. Something I've never experienced with other cruise lines. The guest entertainers were all excellent but on our tour, unless you loved Strictly Come Dancing, you would find many events throughout the cruise not to your liking. The company dancers and singers were good at their jobs but a couple of the shows were really strange leaving you wondering what the stories were about. Lifts didn't work or stop at our floor very often and with no central stairwell from floors 8-16 you are left to either keep waiting or walk to the other end of the ship. Not very well thought out. My biggest disappointment was the food. I expected excellence but instead found several faults, and not just by me but by many other diners - from dried up fish and chicken, tasteless food, potatoes that looked un-edible on your plate, continual repetition of the same vegetables every night and many desserts coming with nuts and no nut-free alternative. Having cruised often I was sadly disappointed with my trip even though the ship is lovely in some instances, there are many grey areas I'm not sure I would be willing to risk a second trip to see if they improve.

Cabin Review

excellent quality of furnishings and good space. Lovely balcony and free tea/coffee and complimentary toiletries all an excellent bonus.
