A good clean modern ship with many facilities. Ocean view dining has plenty of seating and many serving bars. Not always organised well. Sky lounge was our favourite bar/ semi disco area. Service here I found to be quite poor. We drank in the Passport bar, quirky with good service. Al Baccio for coffee and cake that gets fairly busy but I found to have good service. Gym wasn't too bad but not enough space to do mat work on a busy sea day. Moonlight Restaurant clean and modern. Good service, average food with small portions but not enough choice, very repetitive. Entertainment for what I saw that interested me was good. Glass blowing was interesting on the top deck. The excursions were very expensive but well organised and interesting. We did organised tours with the ship for Berlin (6 hours journey all round), Tallinn and St Petersburg. We got the bus into Helsinki doing our own thing and bought the tickets from the Excursions Office for $6 return each. Got the Hop on Hop Off bus in Stockholm. Quite expensive and not really sure it was worth it. Get up early to see the sail in as it's stunning also the Captain allowed us on the Helipad which is on level 6 front and Portside. They don't use the Euro, but will accept cards in most anything. E.g. Shops, taxis ect. Not sure about busses. Copenhagen was the same for money. Copenhagen, we walked in from the ship following everyone who was walking along the harbour, this way you get to see The Little Mermaid, The Fort, Anglican Church and the Palace. We did a heck of a lot of walking and visited most of the tourist attractions, getting back to the boat at about 23.20. We went for food in the Ocean view, but this was rubbish really, offering pizza, pasta and cheese.

The Eclipse don't organise meetings well, if you are single, identify as LGBT or friends of Bill W, then you'll be hard pushed to socialise with like minded people. For some reason they advertise the Martini Bar which is full of everyone else. I'm not saying they shouldn't be there, just that the meetings could be organised in quieter venues.

Wifi, very expensive!! $299 for 14 days. It is VERY slow!! I'd seriously think about not bothering as you'll spend more time trying to log in than staying connected. You have to understand that if the ship with its passengers and crew are trying to login then that's going to be like a three lane road trying to pass through a two lane tunnel with traffic in all lanes requesting different information. Then there are certain restrictions on what you can do. If you have the option where you can use your mobile on wifi, you won't be able to the ship. We have remote sockets that we can control with an app. This won't work either.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Veranda 2A

Cabin 2A

Lovely cabin, clean, modern and fairly spacious. Good clean modern bathroom. Shower with sliding doors , no shower curtain. One power socket above the mirror that I couldn't seem to use as the plug didn't fit. If you're a wet shaver, you'll have a job in a small sink with the tap stuck in the middle of it.

Room with modern interactive TV, with a normal remote and a keyboard remote which you may need to search for. a choice of free and paid films plus much more . Mini bar, but this isn't cheap. A bottle of water that you'll get charged for. A mirror with a light, a hair dryer and tea making facilities.

Two socket that are American style and one European.

Port Reviews

Brugge (Bruges)

We travelled into Blankenburg as we have been to Bruge so many times having stayed there whilst driving to Holland.

Copenhagen

Great place, lots to see within a short walking distance.
