This was our first time with Cunard, having sailed with P&O on ten cruises.
We thought the Queen Elizabeth was the most beautiful ship we had ever sailed on, we loved the decor, the carpets, the furnishings, and all the photographs and memorabilia from Cunard and the QE2 all around the ship.
There was a wide range of nationalities onboard - Americans, Canadians, Australians, Germans, Swedes, Russians, and a very large party of Japanese, to name but a few.
We had a balcony stateroom on deck 6, near the aft staircase, which we had chosen to be 3 decks up to the Lido buffet and 3 decks down to the Britannia restaurant. There was plenty of wardrobe and drawer space, plus enough room under the bed for even our largest suitcase. The bed was extremely comfortable. I didn't like the fixed head shower, as it meant I could not wash my hair without having a shower. I had been warned that Cunard do not provide a kettle in the cabins, so had bought a little travel kettle to make my morning cup of tea as didn't want to ring room service and wake my husband (I often wake very early.) Our stewardess did a good job and the cabin was always clean and tidy, but we didn't have a single towel animal! :-)
