I chose this cruise because I wanted to go to Glacier Bay, and we had a perfect day in Glacier Bay National Park. I enjoyed viewing the Inner Passage and visiting Ketchikan. Skagway wasn't really my cup of tea, but we really loved seeing the humpbacks near Juneau and also orcas in the Inner Passage. We didn't watch some of the entertainment available because of the four hour time difference for us, but what I heard in passing on the ship was that people were enjoying the options available. The staff was very nice and helpful. We had a room with a balcony and I would recommend that sort of accommodation for anyone on this itinerary. My only complaint is related to the food. We ate in both major dining rooms and two of the specialty restaurants. The steakhouse cost a good bit extra and my husband said it was about like eating at Outback, when the price was more like Morton's or Ruth's Chris. The buffet was nothing special. Both major dining rooms were disappointing. Their wine by-the-glass selection should be expanded to include better wines. Many of us would like a glass of something decent without having to go to one of the specialty restaurants to get it. We really enjoyed the cruise but found the food to be very disappointing.
Our cabin was fine. The bed was comfortable and the entire compartment was very clean. We received excellent service. Would recommend a balcony for anyone going on an Alaska cruise.
We had a fantastic day in Glacier bay. The Rangers were informative and we saw sea lions, whales and a large bear. Some of the most spectacular scenery in the world.
