Having nothing to compare the Caribbean Princess with and reading some of the reviews, I wondered what I had let myself in for. All I can say l was pleasantly surprised. Sure the Ships is looking a bit tired but she goes in for a refit next year. From the moment of embarkation (which was very quick and efficient) to the point of disembarkation (the only let down) we could find nothing to complain about. There were queues for the Anytime Dining, as we ate early I cannot state how long people waited, only to say we did not have to queue at 6pm. The food in all dining venues was good, the Crown Grill and Sabatini's being excellent and well worth the extra $25 per head.
The entertainment was good, there were trivia challenges every evening and these were well supported, dancing, music, and shows. On sea days there was plenty to keep you entertained if you so wanted during the morning/afternoon. There was a problem with sunbeds, but l did see the deck attendants removing towels. The Captain was very informative and at times funny, especially the night we encountered strong winds. The only blot was disembarkation there were delays of up 30 mins and no reason given, subsequently we disembarked as the new passengers were embarking it was a bit chaotic in the terminal. That said we would definitely cruise on the Caribbean Princess again.
Good size for two adults and a child, the sofa bed mattress a bit thin but did not bother our grandson, plenty of closet space, bathroom, fine even though a "bit smelly" at times. The toilet failed to work twice but was quickly repaired.
