This was our 5th cruise with Carnival, 2nd time leaving from Galveston. We arrived at 11:30am and parked in the carnival lot. We were on the ship by 12:15 without FTTF. In fact the lines were about the same length. Our room wasn't ready until 1:00pm. As before the service was top knotch, our steward was great.

Food. Burgers and tacos were restaurant quality and much better than the buffet line. We ordered room service several times and it was always quick and great. The formal dinners were not as good as I remember. I believe it was basically the same menu as our cruise on the Elation one year ago. The lasagna and black bean enchiladas were my favorite, everything else was just meh.

Room. We had a aft wrap balcony, it was really more room than 2 people needed. 7 chairs and two tables. It was awesome, we stayed out there a lot. The room was slightly larger, with an extra closet and small couch. Next time though, I would just book a standard balcony. It would be better with a family or friends who could enjoy the extra space. We did have a couple cigs and other items dropped, but wasn't really an issue. Also some people were smoking, but with the wind, it was never bad.

Premium Vista Balcony

Cabin 9C

The room was slightly larger with an extra closet and small couch. Would be great for a family. The balcony had 7 chairs, way more than the two of us needed. We didn't have an issue with the room being hot. But the aft portion of the balcony doesn't get much breeze depending on wind direction. There was some people smoking, but not a real issue for us.
