We booked the Freedom of the Seas for our family vacation with eleven people from 14 months to seniors. We knew it would be a simmer cruise full of family and kids and it was, Fro the most part the kids were fine, Other than public areas you never saw them.
The Freedom is a lovely ship. The balcony rooms are a good size and the balcony is great. We had adjoining cabins and had the steward open the dividers. Great idea as we could all sit together at night and watch th sea go by and the star lit sky above.
Food was average at best. Never came really hot and the flow was off. Maybe they have problems with so many people on board? why, I have been on larger ships and not had this problem. we never got coffee or tea as meals ran too long. And the quality of the food was not there. Yes, we had a couple of good meals but the ones we remember are the ones that were not good. A fried fish plate with pre breaded portion control fish. All who ordered it had the exact size small pieces of fish! Deserts were so so. Why on earth so many with alcohol in them? Why Cream Brulee full of bananas and alcohol? The younger people with us could not have it! What a shame.
We went to Margaretaville for pool and food. Great time in a very clean area.
Spent the day at royal Palms on the beach. Lovely area. Cabanas are great. Food wonderful a real gem!
The new pier in not senior friendly! Too far to walk to get to the area of beaches! While the area looked beautiful it is not for handicap or seniors or a family with a toddler!
