My family recently returned from our cruise on the Norwegian Getaway and we had a fantastic time. I am 18 and cruised with my parents and younger sister who is 11. We have cruised twice before; both with Carnival and were looking for a change, and we decided to try Norwegian. We all agree that was the right decision. The entertainment, the food, the staff, and the ship overall were terrific, and we definitely plan to return to Norwegian in the future. A tip though, before I begin. Try to book shows, restaurants, and excursions in advance or early in your cruise. It will make your vacation that much easier.

Ship

This ship is a sprawling resort and city district combined into one. There is so much to do at seemingly all corners of the ship. 678 Ocean Place is where most activities inside the ship are centered around including the restaurants, bars, theatres, casino etc. The Waterfront, which is a boardwalk style outdoor pavilion was a very classy addition. It really gives a relaxing, classy feel with all the bars and restaurants that have outdoor seating areas all along the Waterfront as you walk by. Decks 15 and above contain the pools, sports complex, Garden Café and Flamingo Grill. The pool area was often busy and sometimes crowded but its understandable given all that there is to do. And with all the fun activities available its understandable. The Poolside games were always entertaining. Big shout out to JC Sanchez for making this a great cruise all around. The passengers on the ships ran the gamut from families, to couples young and old, to single cruisers. The principle group was definitely families though which gave the whole cruise a fun energetic feel. That said there's so much for everybody and every group on the Getaway.
