Sail Date: Jun 2015

I am a dedicated carnival Cruiser. This trip was my 3rd of 4 this year, 29th in all since 2001. This trip we sailed out of NY to St. John's in Canada. I have been on the Splendor many times, " Swine flu turn around April,2009", Repeated the following year and finally made it to Mexico, April 2010. I have been on Cruises to Nowhere on this vessel. This trip was 6 ladies on a Bachlorette Get-A-Way. Oh we had a blast. What I find most interesting about so many of these reviews is all the negativity. There are so many options available in dining, lounging, entertainment, Drink services, relaxation, I cannot always understand why people have a "horrific time", "worst cruise evr experience", "never going again"!???? Why? Is it who you went with? Did you not get involved in the numerous activities available all over the ship? Not get a beach chair? Was your food really that bad? Do you cook like that at home" I find the staff to treat you wonderful, they are lonely, miss their families and tired of the day in day out same job, just the faces change. Greet them with a smiling face and you will see a big difference. I say hello to everyone. Malcolm our cruise director I have met a few times before. Our weather was not so good, thats okay we were prepared for it. The roof over the Lido deck allowed for all day activities, many ships do not have that feature. Met lots of great groups of people. Percy at the Casino bar I have encountered on other sailings as well always a smile for you. Ed Rocks our piano bar singer great fun, you have to stay for a few songs and get into the groove of the group, then every night when you come back even if its for a little while its a "Hey Norm" kind of feeling. We did not see any shows this trip. Our group was very BIG into Kareoke and Bandeoke. My sister in law was often at the mic when the entertainers were up and doing their thing, its just her way she kind of takes over. Ths ship is Pink and Big and has alot of up and down floors. Once you navigate it that's it, you got it!! Deck 9,5 and 2 always go across on most of Carnivals ships. Drink package especially with my group was the super saver option. Late night bar on lido was a must for US. We went to the dining room each night, part of our favorite features of cruising, if you dont like it send it back, if you love it ask for more. Brunch is super fabulous. Filet Mignon and eggs topped off with a Bloody Mary, extra on the Mary, what's not to like.

Yes the last sea day was rough 30 ft waves, Yes we were sick too, Captain does all he can to get you out of that awful situation but he cannot control the wather.

All in al it was a great trip at an affordable price and Im sailing again August 4th with my daughter, this time to the warmth of the caribbean. Sea you on the Sea!!!!
