This was my fourth cruise to Alaska, third on a Princess ship, and most likely our last cruise on Princess. The Golden, like so many ships in the Princess fleet, is an older ship. Even though it was recently refurbished it still needs a lot of work.

Embarkation was easy once you got to the new terminal. We live south of SF and it took us 45 minutes from our house to the King Street exit ramp. Then it took 45 minutes more to get to the terminal, about two miles away. UGH! Traffic on the Embarcadero is never good but trying to get anywhere on a Saturday or Sunday morning is terrible.

The best part of this cruise was our cabin steward, Joffrey, and the wonderful, fun and attentive staff in the International Cafe. All the staff on the Golden were great but these folks stood out as terrific.
