Viking Star is the new ship build for 2015 cruise. Some operation problem is expected. However, with Viking's long experience in river cruising, I expect those problem to be resolved by the time we are on board. Indeed, most problem experienced by the earlier cruiser seems resolved and we did not encounter too many problem at all.

The ship is beautiful and functional. I am especially impressed by the theater design. there is no column to block the view from any seat. the stage is in full view from any angle. And the huge seamless screen is wonderful for handling lecture presentation as well as serving the background for theater requirements. Love it. The entertainment crew is wonderful, professional as well. Enjoyed their performance.

The food service is probably the area can be improved. First, the seating arrangement at the main dining room does not provide dinner with adequate privacy. A first class facility with economy class operation. Very disappointed. The Cafe is better in providing some privacy but the food service is not up to the par either. However, their seafood station is superior with the dedicated hand wash bowel for cleaning fingers after a meal of king crab legs.
