We have just returned from 1 week cruise from Corfu. We were a party of 6 (self,husband,2 teenage daughters & my parents). This was our 4th family cruise but my parents 1st. We all had a very enjoyable holiday & found so much to keep all generations occupied & happy. We weren't so keen on the layout of this ship, especially the pool & sunbed decks but it was the smoothest ship we have been on. As on previous cruises we found the staff to be extremely pleasant & hard working. We cannot fault the service we had in the restaurants or bars, reception & cabins. The ship was extremely clean & our cabin tidied twice daily. We had basic inside cabins which were very small but we knew that at time of booking & as we don't spend much time in the cabin it didn't matter. Having tea making facilities in the cabin was a nice touch. The shower although small worked really well. We were on deck 4 & didn't experience any problems with noise. We ate most evenings in the Four Seasons restaurant which was always an enjoyable experience. Service was excellent & the food extremely tasty each evening. The wine served at the table was of a good quality. There was a variety of food available all day & evening from the various cafes & food stations. We purchased the drinks package at time of booking & it was worthwhile but was expensive if you purchased it once onboard. There are lots of places inside to relax or get a drink or something to eat if you want to get out of the sun for awhile. We did not go on any organised trips but chose to do our own thing in each of the ports. Our favourite destination was Dubrovnik followed by Venice. In Dubrovnik we took the local bus from the port to the walled city & back. This was easy & cheap. We took the cable car to the top of the mountain & the views were incredible. There is a really nice restaurant at the top. A 5 mins walk out of the city brings you to a really nice public beach & lovely clear sea. You can spend ages wandering around inside the city walls & the ice cream is delicious. In Venice we were able to walk from the port to all the main areas. It is a fascinating place but was extremely busy. We took the obligatory gondola ride but felt it was overpriced & the gondolier wasn't really interested in talking to us. In the other ports - Porto Corsino, Rijeka & Durres we were able to walk from the ship & wander around. There is an interesting ampitheatre to visit in Durres & some very nice cafes.

We do have a couple of criticisms regarding the ship itself. At times a lot of black soot comes out of the chimneys making it impossible to sit on the rear deck area. This is particularly a problem on the day at sea as the other areas are very crowded & there are not enough seats for everyone. Secondly we did not feel that the evening shows were up to the same standard as on previous cruises although the comedian was excellent. Finally we found the communal areas during the evening to be far too warm especially the show lounge.

As previously said we all really enjoyed this cruise & will be back for another but would prefer one of the other ships.
