This was my very first cruise and I enjoyed it very much. I had just been sick with an MS relapse just 2 days before I left home & I was not physically well on the cruise most of the time unfortunately. I only made it out of the ship at Germany & Sweden (a very pleasant afternoon shopping in Germany & enjoying the beautiful day, shopping & a fabulous open faced sandwich & beer. I was content not to take the 3 hour train to Berlin and back.) Our cabin neighbors knew German & Swedish so their companionship was greatly appreciated as they also went out with my travel mate each day when I couldn't.

The Ultimate Dinner Package was worth every penny but if your digestive system is not used to such heavy meals, it can be a physical challenge. Don't forget the antacid! I could only do dessert twice as I would always fill up too quickly. :( Btw, the Coconut Cream Banana Pie was at our favorite restaurant, Cagney's, and was to die for! They offer it at lunch as well as dinner.

The service at Cagney's & all of the other premium restaurants is quite superior, as are all the chef created foods. I was impressed especially with all of the home made soups which were not too salty, unlike the commercially prepared soups at a lot of restaurants, pubs & cafeteria's. The freshness of all the ingredients was remarkable & seemed like it must be quite a logistic challenge to keep these restaurants flowing with the freshest of ingredients each day.

Cabin Review

Aft-Facing Penthouse with Large Balcony

Cabin SF

We felt we had the best cabin on the ship and wouldn't have traded it for anything. It was quiet back there & we loved the sound of the water breaking at the back of the boat as we moved and enjoyed the 180 view, especially as we moved through Sweden's Archipelago! The cabin size was perfect for 2 but a 3rd person would've really cramped things tightly in the room. I wouldn't recommend a 3rd for this room unless it is a young child. The large bed was very comfortable fwiw.

There was a draw curtain I could close up around the bed before the travel mate returned in late PM, that would block the light on the wall so I could sleep without her having to walk into a dark room when she came in. I appreciated it.

Port Reviews

Copenhagen

We over slept and missed our scheduled excursion but found CPH very easy to figure out and travel on our own. The people are very laid back and friendly.
