We did our first cruise 5 years ago on the Pacific Dawn leaving from Brisbane. We decided we would do the Pacific Dawn again as our friends had never cruised before and we thought it a good first cruise starter also due to P & O stating they have refurbished the ship.

All I can say is, was it the engine room?, the only thing new is the Big screen in the pool area and the Orient bar on deck 7. The rooms are worn, the toilets are smelly, the food in the buffet was absolutely substandard, and reminded me of Army mess food, slop it on your plate, very poor choices, (the bread rolls were probably the best food item!). We ate at the Main Waterfront dining room, several times the food there was not up to scratch either.

No choices for children in the buffet, very sad, you had to pay for hot chips, pizza, hotdogs.
