I have been on 5 cruises. I had stayed away from Carnival because I had heard it was a second tier cruise line. I was lured in by an inexpensive Western Carribean cruise. I'm so glad I was because it was great. The Carnival Glory is a older ship, but it was perfectly clean and has good bones. I liked how they had an adult pool at the back and an adult sun deck with 2 hot tubes at the front. I did not see kids in those areas, and I never felt the ship was over run with kids. They also had a nice deck for smokers which I think kept them from smoking all over the ship. The age of the ship showed up in the cabin style, but it was clean and functional. The food was the best I've had on any cruise, but I did not eat in the buffet much. I went to the omlet station for breakfast. For lunch they have good pizza, deli sandwiches and burgers. I ate in the dining room for dinner and was very pleased. The ship tenders in 2 ports. In Belize it does go slow. To avoid this I recommend either buying the faster to the fun pass or booking an early excursion so they get you off the boat first. We waited in line for 45 minutes to get back on the boat from shore. It was the only annoying part of the trip, but worth it to go to Belize. The cruise director was out and about, very engaging and entertaining. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We always came back to a clean room and received above average service in the dining room. The shows were your average cruise ship entertainment. I would recommend this cruise if you get a good price and I would do it again myself.
We had a balcony midship... I'm not sure of the letter category. There was not much extra noise even though it was near an elevator. However, there was extra noise from the deck above. It is located in a very convenient spot, so it's a trade off.
