I would like to begin by saying I am not normally a complainer. We have cruised before on Royal Caribbean and Norwegian, and thought we had a pretty good idea what to expect from a cruise, but I have to say this was a very disappointing cruise experience, so bad, that my husband and I considered getting a flight home from Bermuda instead of enduring the remainder of the cruise.
1. We booked as part of a wedding party, so we had to book through the "group" department. Everyone in our group had a horrible experience booking. One couple reported being on the phone for 2 hours tryng to pry information out of the booker. We had to call several times to try to get or reservation. Our first call landed us 7 decks below our friends. I don't think we ever were listed as part of the wedding party. I had to check Expedia, and find a cabin near our friends, call back and tell them which one was available. Communication was very poor.
2. We have 2 kids in college, so we really did not want to go "top drawer" on this cruise, so we opted for an inside cabin (after all for 4 days they view would only be the open sea), it was never explained to us the different "classes". The suites and balcony cabins books by our friends were considered "Aqua Class" As part of the wedding party, it would have been nice to be scheduled to eat in the same restaurants. Because we were not "Aqua Class" and most of the couples were, they either had to give up their chances to eat at the "better" restaurants to eat with us, or we had to eat alone. It caused a good deal of heartache and tension in the group, and really ruined our vacation.
The cabin was fine. I didn't miss a window. Nice and dark for good sleeping.
Kings Warf is a small shopping port. If you want to see Bermuda you have to take the Ferry or bus or taxi to different locations. We found travel challenging, but doable.
We visited St. George, Hamilton, Tabacco Beach and the Crystal Caves.
The port worked efficiently, but the porters were agressive about getting tipped.
