My husband and I had a great time aboard the Breakaway. We sailed the first year of the ship which was 2013 but for some reason we enjoyed it more this time. I guess it was because we had a better knowledge of the ship and also we made sure to see a lot of other activities and night time parties that were offered...especially the parties at Spice H20. They were a lot of fun and Julie the cruise director is so full of energy along with the other party staff and really get everyone up on their feet. The only disappointment I have with the ship is that the adult pool is not big enough to accommodate the amount of passengers and finding a lounge chair becomes very difficult because they are occupied very quickly and too many of the chairs are under the shade on the adult pool deck area. There are very few chairs that are available in order to take the sun and no room to put any of these chairs by the pool. There is no chair space around the adult pool area. Bermuda is beautiful and the ship itself is something to see! I am actually sailing again in August with my sister this time around. My cabin was a nice size and the balcony was a nice addition. My cabin steward Catur was wonderful. Our room was always neat and clean and Catur took care of everything that we needed. We did have a problem with the shower which was clogged and the water overflowed onto the entire bathroom floor. I did have to make 2 calls in order for someone to take care of the matter but when we were out of the cabin obviously the matter was taken care of because the shower was fine for the rest of the trip. The shows were great we saw Burn The Floor which we really enjoyed and Rock of Ages was also very good. There are enough activities on the ship but of course some are for the children so it didn't pertain to us. The nighttime entertainment was a lot of fun and so was the entertainment at the Atrium...Deal or No Deal, Karaoke Idol, Not So Not So Newlywed Game, Dance Like A Norwegian...all very entertaining. Arvin & Emily sang at the Atrium and were very good but when I sailed in 2013 Fire and Ice was performing and I found them to be a little better. The casino is fun but very smoky and the no smoking section is so small so you really have no choice but to play in the smoking area also. When you leave the casino you reek of the smell which is not so appealing. As far as dining, we had the Ultimate Dining Package & I made sure to book all my nights prior to sailing so we had no problem with our reservations or seating. The specialty restaurants were very good and we really enjoyed Cagneys. The steak was delicious. In all the restaurants they could really give a little more food for the side dishes. The portions are a little on the small side. The wait staff were very polite & accommodating as were the entire staff. They were friendly and always there to help you if needed. As far as excursions go...we bought a 1 day pass for the ferry to go into Front Street which was 39.00 total only to find out that the passenger in front of me gave the ferry attendant 10.00 total for 2 people so that didn't make me too happy. We took the shore excursion to Horseshoe Bay Beach which was fine except that the driver waited past our departure time and cut into our time that we paid for and it made me laugh when the ticket said that they would leave without us on the return trip if we were not back at the shuttle on time but waited for the passengers when we were boarding for the excursion which was on our time. The beach is so clean and so beautiful and it is very convenient to rent chairs and umbrellas for a minimal fee. All in all we had a wonderful time and I am looking forward to sailing again in August with my sister. She has not sailed or seen Bermuda in 40 years and I am sure she will be pleasantly surprised by this beautiful ship and all that it has to offer.

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

Cabin BD

As I stated in my overall review our cabin was great. It was neat and clean and very comfortable. Closet space is a little small for two people but we were able to fit all our clothing. The hangers in the closet should be replaced by some other type of hangers. Our steward Catur was great and took care of all our needs and requests. The first day we did have a problem with our shower being clogged and the water flooding the bathroom floor but we called and reported it and it was taken care of while we were out of the cabin and it was fine for the rest of the trip.

Port Reviews

New York (Manhattan)

The port was fine. It was a little more hectic from when I sailed In 2013 and the lines and waiting period was a little longer but there really was no problem with leaving.
