Have just returned from the 9 day cruise to New Caledonia aboard Carnival Spirit. Despite the shore visit to Isle of Pines being cancelled due to rough seas, it was a great time (and our first cruise). Here's my thoughts on cruising aboard the Spirit.

Pros -

• The staff were amazing, especially with kids. They always greeted us by name, remembered food/drink preferences and seemed genuinely interested in us. I really can't speak highly enough of them. We didn't have a single less-than-perfect encounter with staff.

Great cabin, a little cramped with two kids (one in a porta-cot). The water pressure in the shower was lousy, but that's the only complaint. Our steward (Sharlene) was amazing!
