Maybe we've come to expect the "above and beyond" customer service/appreciation from the crew of the Getaway. Maybe we've come to love the newness of the Getaway. Maybe we just really really really love the happiness that exudes from the crew (did I kind of say that already? It needs to be stressed).

The Jewel cruise was nice. That about sums it up. Crew was nice enough, food was good, and the ports were beautiful.

While the cruise was nice...relaxing, great ports, etc., it lacked "energy." Armen, the CD, barely showed himself at shows to engage us (the "how many years have you been married?" "what's the secret to a long marriage?" questions he asked at every event he was at got very old). His CD staff? Barely saw and not much of personalities shown except for the guy who did the Couples game show. The professional entertainment was good (if not repetitive of all the times we've seen them before). The Italian piano man, Fabrizio, was quite excellent.

Port Reviews

Ketchikan

It's a walking town so we did just that. Good "touristy" shopping and good fish/chips on the pier.

Victoria

Another walking town. Beautiful flowers. Eat fish/chips on the Wharf (which is so much smaller than the descriptions online) and wander around but if you've not been to Butchart, do that!

Seattle

We love Seattle. Take a walk along the pier. It's easy walking and Ivar's is a "must"!
