This was a special two week cruise to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. It was booked as back to back 7 day cruises making it a round trip from Boston. We purchased the vow package for this cruise which was on the high side but still worth it. We did have problems getting everything worked out for the package with no fault of the crew but because there was a new ship Captain coming on board and a new Group Event Coordinator so a lot of details had to wait. Once on board and we got to meet the new Group Coordinator she was fantastic and went far above and beyond to make everything happen and to make sure this was as special as she could for us.

This was our second time on the Dawn as we had sailed her in 2012 to Bermuda. Of the three ships we have sailed with NCL, Dawn Epic and Spirit she is our favorite. Plenty of places to eat at with a large selection of foods. We do find the service in the main dinning rooms to be very lacking but the specialty restaurants make up for it. What we found on the smaller Spirit was there was not as many places to eat and with the larger ship the Epic it was sometimes to large and hard to get around. We much prefer the layout of the Dawn. The Entertainment was good that we saw. We did not catch all the shows as there is so much to do you have to pick and choose what you want to see. Your not going to be able to see everything even in two weeks like we had. We did reach gold level Latitudes on this cruise so we did get to enjoy easy Disembarkation and even getting on was made easy. I had knee surgery a few months before the cruise and was using a cane to walk. We were whisked off to a special waiting area and was brought on early.

Even though Mother Nature did not cooperate with the foliage the cruise was fantastic. The only draw back we have fond on all of our NCL cruises is the service in the main restaurants is lacking. Other then that it was a great cruise and one we would do again.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BD

This cabin has what they called an enclosed balcony. What this was is the balcony is semi enclosed with ship steal but still had a large open area with plenty of room for my wife and I to both stand together looking out at the fantastic views of Canada and New England. The cabin was always kept very clean and was done quickly. The Cabin Steward even went as far as to learn a special towel animal for my wife when she happened to ask if he did it.
