Sailed July 5,2015 aboard Celebrity Summit. We booked Aquaclass. Cabins on 9th floor. Our room steward, John attended to our every need. We had room service breakfast of coffee & tea so we could enjoy the balcony. Ninth floor tended to be a bit noisy as we were directly under the pool deck. Aquaclass entitled us to have breakfast and dinner at Blu. The cuisine was fabulous. Our waiter Alvin, was wonderful as was Anthony, Gabriel, John and Constantine. We had a table of nine, yet our service was excellent. Our sommelier, Elvis (Elwis) was excellent and he patiently paired wine with our dinner. He was knowledgable and attentive. His "cheers and enjoy" is a recipe for life and we have adopted his line at our own table as well. He told us wine is his passion and it was quite evident. He is the jewel in the crown of the Celebrity Summit. Gabriel's green "food detector" never detected a morsel as he cleared our table. The buffet breakfast was quite crowded and after 9:30am people became sort of aggressive as they piled food on their plates. We were fortunate to have breakfast in Blu as well. The Martini Bar was also a favorite. Andre and AA, made our martinis with expertise and they were entertaining with their "Martini Acrobatics". All of the staff were willing to share their culture and their country with us. We enjoyed the band "Funky T" as well. They were talented and entertaining and they engaged the audience. She shows were nice but we lingered in Blu so we struggled to make them on time. The pools are small for the number of people on the ship. Many people hoarded chairs and the staff did their best to clear the chairs. The chairs looked old and frayed. We stayed at the inside pool which had a spa lunch section. It was. It crowded. The Persian Garden was another bonus for Aquaclass. Parts of the ship looked dated and worn. In summary, Blu was fabulous, the martini bar scrumptious, and Elwis the sommelier was spectacular. Aquaclass was great. One note: we missed traveling under the spectacular Verrazano bridge as there was a problem with the ship's rudder and we had to be towed back to Bayonne. We didn't leave until 4:30am the next day.
