Our family's very first cruise, but it won't be our last!

Sail Date: January 2009
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: Miami

We flew in from California with red-eyed flight to FLL for same day embarkation. Even though we're at POM by 11:45 am, we'll won't do that again. It's so stressful, we'll fly one or two day before the date of embarkation.

Embarkation was a breeze, no waiting, no problem what soever. We had our lunch at resort deck and our rooms were ready at 1:00 pm and we received our luggage before 4:00 pm.

Cabins were clean and enough room for three people small for four people. Our stateroom attendant Joaquin was from India and assistant chief housekeeper Cecil was from Colombia. They are friendly, very polite and professional. Public rooms were classy not cheesy and glitzy.

We ate breakfast and lunch resort deck and dinner in MDR everyday. Our waiter Eman is from Indonesia and assistant waiter is Migual from Colombia. They are great. We had table by the window near the kitchen! I love the buffet but food at MDR was good most of the time except last night. I More didn't care for the cod.

We just went to the show and it was good. If you're expecting the greatest show on earth, you might disappointed. I didn't use the spa but use the gym for three days. The gym is OK need more space and little too warm for me.

Disembarking was very organized and we were off the ship by 8:30 am. Fighting for taxi at the port to hotel is different story.

We'll cruise again with Celebrity. We don't know when and where we're going next time but I deposit $100 for our next cruise while we're on the ship. We shall return. Less

Cabin review: Celebrity Century Inside Stateroom Continental Deck (4)

We have inside cabin. Enough space for 3 too small for 4 people.

Port and Shore Excursions

Grand cayman is a beautiful little town with too many jewellary stores. We booked with NativeWay Water Sports. We're at the port at 8:00 am and our tour started at 10:00 am. We'll go with them in a heart beat, they're very good. We have plenty of time to do window shopping. But booze, tobacco and jewellary is not our cup of tea so we passed it up. My DW and DD said they want to come back and stay there longer. We'll fly in and stay there for a few days.

We booked with Marva Shaw and we had our own private tour. Maroon is our van driver, tour guide, security guard and our body guard. That's what he told us. He is very good, you should ask for him if you book with Marva Shaw. Marva didn't accept credit card, we should bring more cash or travellers' check when we're in Ocho Rios. We left them in the safe and brought credit card instead. But we brought enough money for excursion.
