This is my first review, so please be kind! We were on the Carnival Splendor leaving from NY on July 15-23 stopping at Puerto Rico, St Thomas and Grand Turks.

Day one first impression: We arrived at the NY terminal around 10:30, the lines we not long but we had the Faster to the Fun so we went to the express line. Within 15 minutes of our arrival we were boarding the ship. Immediately I noticed the decor of the ship was dated a face lift is needed, unless you like pink and silver. Because we met a guy on the train who was also on this cruise and had taken it before we knew to go the Lido Deck to get some food. My son and I had burgers, my wife and daughter had salads. The food was good, not spectacular but it was enjoyable. After 30 -45 minutes the lines for the buffet were long. So the Faster to the Fun paid off in the first hour. The wait staff removed plates glasses and trash quickly, which I noticed some posters complained about but that was not the case on this trip.

The Cabin:

Cabin Review

Cloud 9 Spa Balcony

Cabin 8P

Nice room but honestly kind of tight for four people. The best part pf the room was the balcony. Because this room was the last balcony on that side of the ship there was extra space so the two lounge chairs could be positioned to lay back easily without blocking the door. The TV was small and it did not have any HDMI ports (that I could see) which was disappointing because I had the original Star Wars trilogy to watch in the room just incase my youngest got board. The bathroom was decent, compared to photos of other cabins. I have not taken advantage to the spa amenities yet but I panned to before we leave the ship. We were on the side of the ship that went past the Statue of Liberty so I took some good shots as we left the Hudson River.

Grand Turk

The beach is a few feet away from the where the ship docked. We swam and played in the warm clear water.
