This was our 4th Princess cruise, 9th overall. After a 4 night Alaska land tour, we boarded the ship in Whittier. A unique experience was having "Princess Cruise Ladies" board the train from Denali and process our documents so when we arrived at Whittier, our cruise cards were delivered (before we exited the train) and we walked directly onto the ship. We loved the new Royal Princess but we like smaller ships that have the "old cruising feel". The ship was nicely decorated (not over the top glitzy), and it was easy to find our way around. Our favorite viewing spot was forward deck 11 (just below the bridge) where the naturalist often reported from.

We had late seating in Provence dining room by the window - fabulous service, fun new friends, and beautiful scenery (we had to close the curtains sometimes because the sun was so high and strong even at 8:30). The food was very good to fabulous. I have never had king crab legs slit in half making it too easy to enjoy 2 plates.

We went to all the shows and enjoyed all of them (3 big shows, magician, comedian). Being fans of nature and wildlife, we also went to all the naturalist talks and special guest talks.

Everything you need except hair dryer with enough power to dry your hair. Alaska is the place to splurge on a balcony room!
