Just got back from a 4 day/3 night weekend cruise on the Norwegian Sky (Miami>Bahamas>Great Stirrup Cay). We are from Miami and have cruised on the Sky once before (this was our second time), but we are Gold members with Carnival and have usually always sailed with that line otherwise.

We booked the cruise because our cousin had an on-board wedding the day of embarkation and we had a total of 108 cruise/wedding guests stay the entire cruise! We were a LARGE group, almost took over the whole ship! That being said, our experience may be slightly different from the traditional family-style vacation. However, our entire group was compromised of both friends, family and children of all ages but mostly young adults 20s-30s. Wedding aside (which came out beautiful and I highly recommend for any engaged couples seeking a unique nautical them), we had fun the rest of the time on the ship after the ceremony.

In terms of dining: The First night we ate at LeBistro the french restaurant and it was to die for! You have to try the Salmon & French Onion Soup! Everything was delicious. The following two nights we had dinner in the Palace Dining Room and also had breakfast there one morning. Overall, service was excellent and our waiter "bang bang" was so fun and made sure that we had a memorable experience during our seating with him! Highly recommend! The food in the dining rooms were delicious and I have nothing to complain about in spite of the other negative food reviews I have read. My only complaint in the food department is with the buffet. It has very few choices, is repetitive and lacks a lot of flavor especially in comparison to the other buffet's I have experienced on larger ships and lines. However, for a quick and short weekend cruise it served its purpose and was fine. Did not ruin our experience whatsoever. Read more
