This was my second cruise. I expected much smaller cabins based on my previous cruise so I was very surprised at the size of cabins on this ship and how nice they were. We had an ocean view based on friends suggestions about cabins but I was sorry afterward we didn't get a balcony and I will book one on every cruise from now on. We stayed on level 2 and it was the only floor that smelled of mold every day in the hallways on that floor but not in the rooms-odd. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I had a billing issue and it took 6 days of calling to resolve it, but it was resolved.
The Trip DVD they sell was a disappointment. It's marketed as a review of your trip and lots of passenger shots to be included but it's actually stock footage of the destinations taken at some time so it's not a true record of your trip like it was promoted and there is minimal video of passengers and I would likely not buy again on a cruise. Our favourite shows were the Comedians and the Aerialists. I also liked that they encouraged you to take pictures or video of the shows as long as you did not use flash. I thought there was a decent variety of on-board activities each day. I didn't like the fact that once on board there was way more shore excursion options than on the Celebrity site where I was booking things. I could have chosen other options and would have in some cases.
I found they had lots of good opportunities to win prizes for attending various events. The shows at the Martini bar were excellent. I am a new cruiser and did not realize that even if you check off that you want to leave the ship at 9:30 on disembarkation day you still have to leave their cabins at 8 am and sit in a common area. I didn't like that-you should be allowed to stay in your cabin area till you leave the ship but that's only my opinion. We ate in the Oceanview Cafe or at Breezes Grill every day except the first day and the food was very good. I loved the fact that you could order room service til 5 am and it was free-again I am a new cruiser, so not sure if that's the same on every ship as on my first cruise room service was extra.
Our cabin was good. Could use some painting around window to keep it looking better-rusty around the window. On 2 of the 7 nights we found towel creatures made on our beds after the evening cleaning. The kids would have liked that each night. We left a tip every night for the room attendant and at the end of the trip we also tipped our room service staff a flat rate for all 7 nights as we ordered room service 5/7 nights.
