Even though the Splendor is an older ship and does not have a lot of ammenities as the newer ones, with over 20 cruises, this Carnival cruise was better than I expected. My wife needed a wheelchair on and off the ship and the staff were so attentive and nice to her. The waiter and support staff during our dinner service was excellant. Buffet service at breakfast was dissapointing and lunch buffet was average. The shows were really good from the lobby performers, lounges and the main show. The comedy club shows were hit and miss. The casino was not smoke free and really put a damper on entering it to gamble as well as walk by it as well. It really stunk and was a turn off. The best thing and must go was the Piano Bar and Martini Bar. Joslin in the Martini Bar had a great personality and made a great martini. Met lots of people there every night.
The Kon Tiki excursion in St. Thomas was a lot of fun and was disable friendly.
The cabin was specious, had a nice balcony (a Must) and very convient to all ammenities associated with the spa.
Also it was very quiet with very little kid action due to the limited number of cabins. Well worth the extra money
Walked the port on our own and did some shopping. Found the area a little seedy and remindered me of any low end area
