This is our 3rd or 4th time on Jewel & we noticed the improvements from the 2014 spruce up.
Our ONLY complaint was getting onboard & learning our 2:30 arrival for Victoria is now 5:30!! Ridiculous & terribly disappointing ..as it was, bad enough to NOT have a full day, but to give us NO daylight port time? Inexcusable. Our afternoon tea at 4 changed to 7:30...but its last night with hurry hurry & suitcases outside cabin by 11pm.
While we were in debarkation area there should have been a BIG sign announcing this significant cruise change. No reason provided, and staff could only belatedly apologize (one even said "ports & changes are noted in your daily activity guide").
Cabin smelled like toilet in bathroom area. But our steward was able to make it go away. Drawup curtain in bathroom broken (yes, we noticed). Bed comfortable. Coffee maker terrific & mini fridge. Food onboard ship in any of specialty restaurants wonderful. Even "the trough" (Garden Cafe) was also better than before (we've been on NCL Jewel 3 or 4X). Although our Butler & Concierge were absolutely useless, our Room Steward was spectacular and did more to take care of us then the other two combined.
Seattle terrific city to visit, even if only for 2-3 days...don't miss: Pike Place, Seattle Space Needle (have dinner!! worth it), take the trolley, walk thru town (but bring an umbrella or borrow one from hotel).
Fun walking around. Don't miss Creek Street. Easy walking village.
Another great village easy to walk around & lots of fun shops.
