This is our 8th cruise on RC; our 2nd without our adult children. We had an interior, so we could add airfare and leave from San Juan. We used RC airfare offer because at the time it plus transfers were cheaper than Southwest. Usually don't do this, but were glad we did when the plane from Philadelphia left an hour late. We knew RC was responsible for getting us on the ship.
We didn't get onboard until 4, so embarkation was nearly empty. Can't comment on that.
Ice show was best entertainment. Champagne Bar the best bar for us before dinner. Viking Crown Lounge is usually our after dinner place, but they never varied the salsa band and we wanted some variety. The music around the ship and in the pub was wonderful, especially the solo guitarist. Schooner Bar pianist was just too loud. Fun group, but just couldn't tolerate his volume. The atmosphere was less fun piano bar vibe and more teen-aged garage band!
Port intensive cruise had us onshore most days until 3 o'clock or so. Our room was great for two people; we did not miss the balcony which we "traded in" so we could afford to fly to San Juan and cruise southern itinerary. Not sure if it was "K" because I don't remember. Plenty of storage room for two-put the coffee table in the closet as advised and suitcases under the bed. Nice that the shower was more of a pod with plastic doors rather than a shower curtain, so it didn't blow against you when you showered.Forward area of the ninth floor had a strong mildew smell. I don't think I would have enjoyed time in those rooms.
