Sail Date: Jul 2015
Cabin: Balcony, obstructed view

We sailed from Southampton July 2, docked at Liverpool for a bang-up July 4th celebration and then sailed for Halifax, Boston and NYC. Weather mostly calm. Stopped to inspect derelict two-masted boat found adrift, but apparently no one aboard. Enjoyed lectures by ship's architect and other historians, also large library. Food unexceptionally good but only twice reached excellence IMO, once in the Britannia Restaurant and once in King's Court. Thought HAL had the edge on good food. Service uniformly good; staff friendly.

Took tour of Croxteth Manor in Liverpool. Long walk from parking lot up to house. The bus was allowed to pick us up at the house afterward because many of us had difficulties walking.

Toured the Titanic cemetery and museum in Halifax. Very interesting, exceptionally knowledgeable guide. Would like to visit Halifax again.

Cabin Review

Balcony, obstructed view

Cabin DB

About the same size as comparable cabins on HAL, NCL, Princess or RC, but much more storage. Were able to fully unpack our suitcases for the first time on any sailing. Good-sized bathroom, again with plenty of storage, and large shower. Lifeboats obstructed our view from the balcony and we were surprised once early in the morning when men appeared just outside our cabin to do some maintenance work on the boats. Mattresses a little too soft for us; we prefer them firm. Selection of soaps/lotions not as extensive as I recall from QE2.
