This was our first cruise experience. We chose Norwegian for the freestyle cruising. I'll have to say, this was the greatest experience. Absolutely the only way to see Alaska, short of going into the bush or becoming a trucker! The ship, The Norwegian Pearl, her crew, and everyone else on board were fabulous! We had a mini suite, and the views were phenomenal! You must have at least a balcony cabin to experience Alaska properly. Bring your camera, binoculars and appetite. You won't be disappointed!

We did two shore excursions. The Mendenhall River Float, a mild whitewater adventure. Excellent for all ages! ; and the White Pass & Yukon Railroad with panning for gold! Also super. We even have a souvenir of gold we actually panned for! Shopping and touring in Juneu, Skagway and Ketchikan was fun.

onboard there were so many activities, there was no way to be bored. Bingo, game shows, dancing, clubbing, the Casino & shows on stage. We passed on the clubbing, this for the younger crowd! We had such a good time, we booked our next cruise on board with the cruise consultant. 2017, here we come!

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MX

10 Stars out of 10! I would have given it 11 stars, but there was no way to make tea water that did not taste of coffee. Clean, very comfortable bed, outstanding views, and our cabin steward saw to our every need. Room service was prompt, and breakfast could be delivered at a time of your choice if pre-ordered the night before. Did I say clean? I mean impeccably clean, and in excellent condition. Far better than the very expensive hotel in Seattle after the cruise.

Thank you Norwegian?

Port Reviews

Glacier Bay

What can I say... breathtaking! And the captain spun the ship very , very slowly to give everyone on board excellent views. I must have taken 200 pictures and videos!

Ketchikan

Quaint town. Did a walking tour, relaxed and did some shopping. We were even able to ship our purchases home for less than cramming it into our baggage and paying overweight fees to the airline! ( HIGHLY RECOMMENDED )

Seattle

Very clean city, lots to see- but very hilly! Take good walking shoes, and don't plan on sitting down. There are no benches anywhere in the city proper, except at venues. I recommend taking the Emerald City Trolley Tour. Reasonably priced, with hop on- hop off service at about 20 stops around town. Also the monorail is a great stepsaver, and Seattle Center is a must. That's where th Space Needle is. Pike Place Market is a must! And the are seafood restaurants everywhere, with absolutely fresh caught local fish!
