My husband and I (Canadian) have always wanted to see Scandinavia so finally splurged on this 11-day cruise of the Baltic area for our 25th anniversary. This is our third cruise with Princess Cruises.
We arrived in Copenhagen two days prior to embarkation and stayed at the Radisson Blu hotel (which we booked ourselves). We took the train from the airport and walked to the hotel which is in a great location within walking distance of all main attractions. Room was small, but comfortable, and overlooked Tivoli Gardens. Wonderful, but expensive, breakfast buffet.
We took a taxi to the ship and we were in our cabin on the ship within 15 minutes of arrival at the dock (at approx. 1:30 pm). Our cabin with balcony felt fairly spacious with lots of storage (B235). We purposely chose a cabin in the middle of the ship, both top to bottom and front to back. We also purposely chose a cabin on the starboard side of the ship so we could see the 'land' side as we arrived in most ports. The ship layout is a little confusing as you can not get all the way around on the upper decks without cutting through. Although the ship is fairly new, the carpet in our cabin had several stains on it and should be replaced.
Walked off the ship and started exploring around Akershus Fortress. A national holiday so some things were not open. Roamed around City Hall, to the Royal Palace and National Theatre, had lunch, bought a Troll!
A beautiful old town for walking, exploring, eating, and shopping. Really enjoyed the Great Guild Hall museum.
A beautiful and friendly city. Would have liked more time there.
