The Cruise - Sailed on Royal Caribbean's Grandeur of the Seas to Bermuda with my family. Baltimore is a wonderful port to sail out of. Check-in was a little frustrating, but it ended up ok. It was a first cruise for four of our group, and aside from myself first Bermudian visit. We ranged in age from 12-54 and celebrated 2 birthdays. The cruise itself was wonderful - the ship, staff and food all met, or exceed expectations. We were in cabins 3555 & 3557 - they were kept very clean and the beds felt great. I was last on this ship 7 years ago to a different location - I found it was still in fantastic shape - while smaller than the new ships, we felt we had plenty to do and liked the size. The comics were very funny and the headliner was good. The singers we saw in the lounges were very good, didn't really like the "broadway tribute" done by the singers and dancers.

The dining room food was very good for dinner - didn't think the breakfasts were great and didn't try lunch there. Windjammer was so-so, but it's buffet, so I didn't expect much, the food wasn't bad but the service and coffee were not good. We usually got our lunch from either there or Park Cafe - the food at the Park Cafe was good as well. Our dining room staff, Kevin, and Vanessa were fantastic! The bar service at the pool and schooner lounge were great - and my sisters loved the specialty coffees. My brother-in-law who wasn't thrilled about a cruise vacation asked me to book the next one by the end of our first day at sea. If they are able to ever do 2 full days in Bermuda, instead of one full day and 2 half days, that would be awesome!

Bermuda itself was beyond lovely. When I was last here (30 years ago) my boat docked right in Hamilton (which was great) - this time we were at the Dockyards - this made things not quite as easy, but it wasn't bad - we also met some very nice local people here. Catching the bus is the easiest way to leave this area and get to the beaches, which we did on our one full day. Our last day we did a private tour.

Cabin Review

Interior Stateroom

Cabin M

We had cabin 3557 and the adjoining one 3555. We had 3 people in each cabin and elected to keep the 4th bunk down in each for extra storage. We found the renovations in the bathrooms very nice, the rooms looked pretty much the same but the beds had been improved. Christopher was our steward, and while on the quiet side he kept our rooms in great shape! We chose to keep the door open between our two cabins the entire time and we felt it worked out great for us.

Port Reviews

King's Wharf

On my last cruise to Bermuda (30 years ago) I docked at Hamilton, which I preferred. While King's Wharf is very easy to navigate and is clean (and pretty in parts), it feels very detached from the parishes. They should have more signs directing people to where to purchase bus tickets, etc. Buses should be easier to spot.

Baltimore

Found Baltimore very easy to get in and out of. They handle this with ease. We had some problems at check-in as we were a party of 6 with 2 rooms.
