Our cruise this past week on the Norwegian Sun was perfect! All the staff that we encountered went out of their way to please and were always smiling and friendly!

We had spectacular weather and were fortunate to be able to sail the inside Inside Passage!! Captain Ronny Borg and his crew went out of their way to make this cruise so special! (At the Q & A with the Captain and the Hotel Director, Captain Ronny even said he contacted head office to get permission to sail this special route after he had been in contact with the Disney ship ahead of us who told him that the fog had lifted in this area and it was safe to go this way)

The food in the main dining rooms was delicious and presented beautifully! No need to pay for specialty dining for us!!

Cabin Review

Oceanview Porthole Window

Cabin OG

This was a nice cabin and an upgrade for us as I had booked an inside guarantee. It was a nice treat to be able to look outside and have natural light however we did have to pull the drapes to sleep as we were travelling in July with so much more daylight the further north we travelled! The bathroom is small but there is lots of room to store all toiletry gear etc. and that was nice! The location is close to the front of the ship and just one floor up from the level of the main atrium and the floor where most embarkation is from.

Port Reviews

Juneau

We rented a car so we could maximize the things we could see as we had a shorter port day. We visited the Mendenhall Glacier and hiked to the falls and spent time at the Fish Hatchery. The salmon were coming up their fish ladder by the thousands and this was fun to watch and very educational! A local told us about a stream near the hospital where the salmon were running and as we approached the area we saw a bear fishing for his lunch. (We were a safe distance away looking down from the bridge across the stream!)

Glacier Bay

Glacier viewing was wonderful and the advice about dressing warmly is well advised. Lots of travelers were not prepared!

Seward

We walked around the town in the rain. The library has wifi and there is a museum there but it is closed on Mondays! There is a free shuttle around town but it was too crowded due to the rain!
