Sail Date: Jun 2015

Im 22 years old going on my second cruise with my family including my 80 year old nan who needed a wheelchair for the majority of the time we were away. From my estimations around 75% of the passengers onboard the Britannia during these week were over the ages of 65 and many of them were not capable of climbing 10 flights of stairs between restaurants and entertainment decks. Myself and other members of my family used the stairs while my nan and brother (pushing her) took the lifts. The majority of the time it was impossible to get in a lift within at least 5-10 minutes of waiting, especially in the centre of the ship. Many young able passengers were using the lifts during this time, most probably due to stairs only being located at the front and back of the ship which didn't seem like a great design of the ship.

The facilities in the ship are very nicely decorated and designed. There are plenty of places to choose from to spend your evenings, however the activities in the venues did not cater for people of my age group, which i did expect to be fair. The theatre did look very modern and fresh however i was incredible disappointed by the 'Once upon a time show'. Myself and my family found ourself cringing throughout the whole show as it lacked any taste. That show alone put us of seeing anymore.

I was very confused by the sail away party, which to us felt more like a Butlins early evening party for children which was followed an hour later by the black tie event. How can you go from Butlins to black tie so quickly. It just didn't feel right and made me question what style P&O were going for on the Britannia.

Cabin Review

Cabin Outside Balcony

The cabins are of good size, plenty of room even in the bathroom. They are decorated very nicely and feel cozy, very modern. It was nice to sit out on the balcony before going out for dinner. Cabins are very clean as new and i was very impressed with the cabin stewards. They were very friendly and helpful. I have nothing bad to say about the cabins on the Britannia.
