There was very little to fault on this great cruise from Barcelona. It was the first cruise for my partner and the 12th for myself ( 5th on Celebrity). It is the first time I have actually used the cruise line for a package as I normally arrange my own flights and cruise, however the way Celebrity handled this was perfect from our check in at Heathrow Airport, collection at Barcelona airport and transfer to the ship was so professionally handled. I had checked into my cruise online and received my Xpress pass, making the boarding swift and efficient. We were in Concierge class, stateroom 2112 on deck 12. I chose this as having previously sailed on Eclipse we found the position of the cabin to be excellent, particularly as my partners sense of direction leaves a lot to be desired, and having our stateroom on the top deck made it easy for her to locate. Everything was fine here and we had the benefit of an angled balcony giving us even more room. Our Steward was efficient although we really saw him. I had signed for Canapes to be delivered to our stateroom each evening but after the second evening I was not that impressed so we gave them a miss. We really didnt need them anyway as you can hardly go hungry on a cruise.

I had booked us on select dining as I prefer to chose my own time to eat. Pre cruise I was explaining to my partner how good the speciality eating places are on Celebrity, however I have to say this is the first cruise I have taken that we ate in the main dining room each night ( Deck 4) as it was so good. The service was second to none, and on the first night I asked for a table for two preferably near a window, starboard side. The lady host who met us each evening made sure that was exactly what we got, she was really helpful, unfortunately I am useless remembering names as I would like to have given her a mention.

The ship is in tip top shape, everything was sparkling clean, very impressed by the amount of staff making sure you used the medicated hand cleansers before entering restaurants. Read more
