This was our first Carnival cruise after 5 Royal Caribbean and one Princess. I had heard from online reviews and rumors that Carnival was the "motel 6" or "Walmart " of cruises. I was pleasantly surprised.

While there is a big "Walmart" crowd on board, a cruise is what you make of it. While yes, there were shorts and T shirts in the dining room and kids in the adult area, but it was not bad. There were about 300 kids and teens aboard and they were all polite and we'll behaved.

The cabin was nice and quite roomy with plenty of storage . The only nitpick I had was the attention to detail on ship maintenance and cleaning. Our cabin couch cushions had stains on them as did some of the pool towels. The balcony was a bit dirty . The furniture was slimy and the windows were dirty. To be fair, they did come through and clean the balconies but it was superficial at best.

Port Reviews

San Juan

Only in port a half day. Beaches too far from cruise ship. Walked around old toen.and the forts.

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Embarkation was smooth but crowded. The hall was air conditioned and fairly well organized. We were on the ship about 45 minutes after arriving.
