The ship:
It was clearly an older ship. Not at all like the luxury/glam I experienced on my other 2 cruises on Celebrity. No grand atrium, etc. Basic, respectable, but not impressive. Cabin comfortable, but artwork on walls was very dated and faded. Didn't realize oceanview cabin doesn't get fresh air- air on ship seemed stale. ( I got sick.) Food was fresh with small portions in dining room, which was OK for me, but surprising. Activities were overcrowded and unimaginative- bean bag toss? Really? No large dance floor.
The cruise:
OK, kind of plain and dark. Dated décor. Comfortable bed and nice bedding. My cabin on deck 5 was directly below jogging track on deck 6. Lots of trampling noises from jogging track. I would avoid deck 5!
nice airport
check out the museum- not Discovery Centr, but Museum.
More crowded than other ports
Went hiking on my own to lower lake trail. Be aware- it is very strenuous with lots of uphill, rocks and roots. Nice trail, to pretty lake, but be ready for more than a casual stroll!
No services, nowhere to walk, etc.
Beautiful glaciers for two days of at sea cruising, no port there. I appreciate the environmental import and majesty of Glacier Bay National Park. But looking at ice for two full days was quite boring, sorry.
