Note...... We are interdenominational cruisers, we sail everybody, and have sailed a lot. That said we know generally what to expect from each line, and therefore sail with little expectation, therefore very seldom disappointed. That said.... we come home from a Western Caribbean cruise on the Glory with mixed feelings.
What worked..... Great stateroom, Ocean Suite, size nice, well appointed, great storage, big bath. Good location, deck 7. Service throughout ship excellent, both cabin and dining, great attitude ready to serve you. Excursion coordination, management good, easy disembark. Many Evening activities.....The ship some 12-13 years old is generally in good condition, was very clean, appeared maintained. Steak house food good, not great. Chefs table was very enjoyable. $75. Look at it as a 3 hour "Culinary Excursion,", easier to swallow the price. That said fun, worth it..... Cruise Director very good. This can make or break the cruise experience.
Mixed.......Layout a bit convoluted, but once you get the hang of things ok. Ship can feel nit crowed on sea day as well as during evening, mostly layout related, Limited inside bars, in general areas, Alchemist bar is fun, bit more quiet. Dining rooms functional but with little pizzazz. We had first seating, poorly attended, we had table for 10, only 6 people, some nights only 4. Was this way throughout dining room. We probably could have requested reassignment. Table Cloths..... I'll come back to this.....Food in Dining room and buffet is ok, about it, Guys and Mexican burrito bar, better bet. Also try Seafood buffet, second level of buffet area.... Shows hit and miss as is Comedians, but have the option every night. Shops, standard cruise fare.
