The views are indescribable and 1,000 photos can't begin to capture the beauty. The vastness of it all hard to believe without seeing it.
The ship is older, but beautiful and for the most part well maintained. Service was impeccable! Sky Li in the Windjammer made us glad to get up in the morning just to see her smiling face. Hugo Sanchez in the Latitudes coffee shop was a lot of fun. Our stateroom attendant Rendy Suwito took care of our every desire and Randy our Cascades dining server made dinner worth attending each night!
Getting on and off the port was easy most of the time except a bit of a wait in Icy Straight with the tender, but when it got busy they got a third tender going.
Loved the cabin, it was in a great location. We picked a lower floor central ship so we wouldn't feel the moment of the ship as much, but this cruise was smooth anyway. The room was easily accessible to the elevators, and close to the main dining. It was just one floor from the Celarium so close to the action but apart from the noise. It seemed like it was close to everything and took the steps instead of waiting for the elevators. We did have a problem with our toilet that maintenance had to fix each day, but when I told the room steward, he got the guest services involved and it got fixed so it didn't give a problem again, then they sent us a bottle of champagne.
We enjoy trains and took the train from the airport to the cruise. It was easy to get on, and a sort walk from the train to the ship. We enjoyed the trip but wish we had sent our luggage ahead with the cruise line. On our return, we were tight for time and took cab. The only problem we had was at the airport, we were flying to Orlando which is international, but the plane stopped in Toronto, so we had to board in the Domestic Terminal. The cab driver and the first person we asked in the airport couldn't tell us what to do.
There is a free bus shuttle to take you into town but there is not too much to do in town. We spent time in the sea life center, but it was just so so.
