What I'd like to warn people about is what most people did not now about when they bought these gift cards/and /or Groupons. You are required to pick up your boarding passes in Fort Lauderdale at a "welcome center" situated at a Ramada Resort. Not a problem for people who live south, but we drove from NORTH Florida. Fort Lauderdale is an hour away from the port! Not one person, while booking the cruise mentioned this before hand. The gift card itself did not state this either. When I called to complain, I was basically told "tough luck".

BUT, they said in lieu of that hassle, we COULD go directly to Port of Palm Beach to pick up the boarding passes IF we attended a 90 minute presentation with breakfast, at a resort across from the Cruise ship terminal. THEN we could pick up boarding passes there. This is where the the story gets good. There is nothing 90 minutes about this fiasco. First of all breakfast was an hour long in the humidity by the resort's pool. We ate in 10 minutes, then sat and watched our Time share salesperson eat breakfast for an hour!!! An hour! THEN the tour began. After touring the facility, they brought us into a room with 50 or so other "suckers" and pitched the sale. We endured blaring latin dance music (which I love in any other setting). When I asked if we could go elsewhere so we could hear each other she said no. So my 70 year old mother sat at the table with their fingers in their ears.

Just when I thought it was over we were told there was another part of the tour (going on 2 1/2 hours now). We were taken out to the beach boardwalk and told we were going to now tour the beach. It was spitting rain, thundering, and lightening. I said it wouldn't be smart to be on the beach with the lightening flashing, etc. We were told someone from our group HAD to walk the beach because it was part of the tour. And we could not get boarding passes without completing the tour! I stood my ground and said she was welcome to risk her life but we would not be walking over the boardwalk to the beach...So, finally after 3 1/2 hours of a very exhausting sales pitch of a $20K time- share, they finally gave us boarding passes! 3 1/2 hours!
