Our week on the Sunshine was a terrific vacation. Plus, using Port Canaveral is a snap compared to cruising from Miami or Fort Lauderdale! The ship is beautiful, and the adults-only Serenity deck and pool are fantastic. Was it crowded the last week in June? Of course, but that is what you get for booking in the busiest time of year! The pool area bar staff deserve every penny and more for all the running they do on that deck each day. We did not purchase the Cheers package, but plenty of fellow cruisers did. If you only consume 2-3 drinks a day, it isn't needed.

Carnival really stressed customer service, and there was never a "No" for anything we needed. The gym area is clean and filled with new machines--- take advantage of them and the yoga classes so you can eat more dessert. We tried all the specialty restaurants, and they did not disappoint. Our favorites were the Steakhouse and Chef's Table, which also allows guests to tour the galley.

Our only regret for the week was booking a room near the noisy elevator/open atrium on deck 9, but we will study the deck plans better next time. We would definitely take the Sunshine again.
