Let me say that I have been on 65 cruises, on five different lines. All share dining, food, shore excursions, cruise staff, spa, islands, shops, movies, sports deck, jogging track, shuffleboard, ping pong, sun, and pool. However, Disney beats all the competition with decks 4 and 5. No other cruise line, of any sized ship, can equal either deck.
On Deck 5: Disney has several ages and areas, devoted exclusively to kids. Here, the kids find the entire disney world- characters, computer games, pirate ship playground, kids parties, huge- dedicated kids' counselor staffs, crafts, magic fun, science experiments, Wii games, sports, dance parties, character parties and stories. The competition? Coloring books, a few blocks and balls, and tiny spaces allocated. Enjoy scrubbing magic marker off the kids before dinner? Sail with anybody else. We won't be back, RCCL. They don't want kids (read: non drinkers/non gamblers) and they ACT LIKE IT!
Likewise, Deck 5 has the Disney movie theatre (Buena Vista Theatre), with exclusive Disney classics and first run showings- several daily, more than 12 hours' worth> popcorn and snacks available as well. There's several other movie venues aboard, top deck, kids clubs, and the main showroom. Again, no other cruise line comes close.
