Sail Date: Jun 2015

Sailing on the Carnival Elation can be entertaining and fun as long as you understand that this is a base level cruise ship and offers a limited number of luxuries. The ship is older, but it was supposedly refurbished in 2014. It's decor is glitzy and a probably over done. Lots of lipstick, but pleasant!

Staterooms... We had an Ocean View stateroom on our June 2015 cruise. It was a little small. The bedding was not bad. The beds in the room are twins pulled together to make a king.

Maybe I am a snob, but you should not have to climb over your partner in the middle of the night in order to go to the bathroom. In the deluxe ocean-view room we had, there was a large box (approx 28" cube) permanently installed at the foot of the bed. It held our life preservers. It also prevented us from walking from one side of the bed without stepping on the box or climbing over the mattress. Huge trip hazard! Surprised that any re-furb would not include the removal and relocation of this hazardous obstruction.
