Sail Date: Jun 2015
Cabin: Mid-Ship Balcony

We had low expectations, having cruised with NCL in 2001 and being very disappointed. We've sailed with other lines and been happy. We wanted to do Hawaii in the summer and NCL was the only option so we booked it, thinking we would only spend minimal time on the ship.

What a pleasant surprise for us! We had read complaints about the all American crew. They were fabulous! Everyone was super friendly, speaking to you with a friendly "hello" at each encounter. They were easy to understand and seemed to communicate easily with guests from all nationalities as well.

Embarkation was the quickest and easiest of any cruise we have been on. We went at the busy time and barely waited at all. It took about 2 hours for the cabin to be ready. They called the decks as they were ready. Luggage was delivered in a timely fashion.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony

Cabin BA

Spacious as they go. Loved the midship location! We were near the elevators. Noise was never an issue but it sure was convenient for one who has gotten lost on several ships! I never lost my cabin on this ship. We had adequate storage space and loved the balcony. However, if you are getting a balcony cabin, get one on the other side of the ship. You will have the best view of the Napoli coast from the other side and you will have the ocean view in Kauai instead of the port side.

Port Reviews

Hilo

We took the Hop On Bus to the candy factory. Loved it but felt a little rushed. While waiting for the bus, we saw a lovely hula show in a gazebo. We walked through the farmer's market. Be careful when buying souvenirs. Many of the beautiful dresses are not made in Hawaii. Beware of the "designed in Hawaii" label.

Kauai

We walked through the lovely Marriott gardens. We spent some time at Kalapaki Beach. We took a free shuttle into town to shop at Hilo Hatties and the gift shop across the street.
