On this cruise we were 2 adults and a 14 year old. We have cruised on Royal Caribbean, Princess and Carnival (only once). Overall, we really enjoyed the Breakaway - its shows, its service, its food... We were not sure what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised. We found the cruise to be most comparable to Royal Caribbean. This was not to say that this cruise or ship is for everyone, but there was much more that we liked than what we did not. I would recommend this ship for families with kids, especially teens.

We had a balcony cabin and found it narrow but better designed in terms of storage and sleeping areas for 3 and 4th passengers than Oasis. There are two large drawers under the sofa/futon style bed. The balcony itself was compact.

The ship is beautiful. The Waterfront area is really a nice plus that you don't see on other ships. The interior restaurants, bars and buffet were really tastefully decorated, as were the hallways and stairways. A negative was the casino (stale smoky smell) that went through the center of the ship on Ocean 678, but we just got used to it. The pool areas were really not well designed in our opinion and there was really not much comfortable seating in the sun. It always felt crammed in all upper deck and pool areas. There is no quiet adult pool, which we have gotten used to on Princess and RCI. That being said, the sports area, ropes course, waterslides are lots of fun for many kids (and adults).
