In this review I will cover cruise pricing and worth, itinerary, excursion options and food of my cruise on 06/20/2015 on NCL's Pride of America.
Pricing: For an inside stateroom, my wife and I paid $1649/person with reserving our room 15 months out. At that price, I would say this cruise was definitely worth it even with seeing last minute deals for similar cabins at $1100/person within weeks of the sail date. Spending an overnight in Maui, two days on the Big Island and two days in Kauai, I don't see any vacation package that could offer that including meals. From my perspective this gives this cruise it's value.
Itinerary: At each location, NCL has a list of excursions that will allow you to get a great feel for each location. If you are familiar with the ports that the Pride of America visits (Honolulu, Kahului Maui, Hilo Hawaii, Kona Hawaii and Nawiliwili, Kauai) you can schedule your own excursions or explore on your own without too much trouble. Each day of the cruise, the ship offers many activities and entertainment to keep passengers of all age groups busy. For my wife and I, we enjoyed a few of the drink tastings ($20/person for 4 different tastings - great deal), went to a few shows (2 magic shows and the not so Newlywed game) and joined the Karaoke Idol contest (where I won a t-shirt for second place). Definitely had a fun time and was never bored.
The cabin was nothing too special. We had our bed configured as a queen. It slept good and it served it's purpose (a place to sleep/rest). I'm glad we did not have a balcony because we found time to spend on deck or explore things.
