Having read some mixed reviews I was a bit concerned as this was our first river cruise but we found nothing to really moan about. Admittedly the river is mud coloured but it's tidal and that's how it is. There may not have been as much sailing as some might like but we didn't find it a problem and were prepared for that. We had a balcony which although small did afford that little bit of extra space to sit and enjoy the sun, however that was lost when docked next to another vessel or as in Bordeaux the dock wall, but as we moved up and down with the tide the situation changed. But again we were prepared and didn't find it a major problem. There are plenty of places to sit on deck. The food was excellent, the wine, as you'd expect in the region was first rate. The staff were amongst the best we've come across on cruises. The dinner at the chateau was a lovely touch and thoroughly enjoyed. The tours were well organised with plenty of 'own' time. We didn't take any optional tours, so cannot comment on them. The accommodation was comfortable with enough storage for a week long cruise. Plenty of hot water and good power in the shower, although if you were a 'large' person the shower cubicle could be a little tight! My main criticism was the wi fi connection was almost non-existent in our stateroom which meant a trip to the lounge area if needed.
